News about the 9/11 attacks became incredibly sensational, this clearly goes to show that sensational news has a place in our ever-changing society.

Wouldn’t we get bored if there is no sensational news on channels? The obvious answer is yes. Ordinary people become heroes overnight if they become a part of sensational news, for instance, Anna Hazare gained immense popularity in India when he launched an anti-corruption movement which shook the government of India. The movement is aimed at eliminating corruption at the grass-root level in the country.

“Two weeks ago, a TV news channel here broadcast an exposé alleging that a math teacher at a local school had forced young girls into prostitution. The public reaction was swift and harsh: Within an hour, hundreds of enraged parents had stormed the school and a crowd had found the teacher, ripped her clothes and beaten her.” (Nation and World) This is a fine example of how ordinary news becomes sensational overnight.&nbsp.&nbsp.
