1)The clash of beliefs and values between cultural groups has created conflict since the dawn of time.

For this assignment select two countries or cultural groups that are currently or have historically been in conflict. Then, research the conflict from the perspective of each of the cultural groups. Your research should include library, internet, and community resources. Finally, in a 1 page response based on summarizing the major issues and arguments of each cultural group. Your response should explore the role of cultural values, political contexts, and historical contexts in the conflict. Submit your assignment including any links to the research/support used in your analysis.

After reading the article (link above), GO to various tourist websites (example,visithawaii.org). Then find at least two travel/tourism related articles. Analyze these sites for cultural aspects and their marketing strategies. Then analyze the articles for cultural aspects.

Finally, in a 1 page response discuss what you found, incorporating answers the following for each source of information analyzed.

• What kind of cultural information is presented?
• Who is the intended audience for the website/ article?
• How are the host communities portrayed?
• Are the host communities portrayed as welcoming or retreating from tourists? Why?

For this journal look for examples of courses that were once taught at schools and colleges but that are less important or nonexistent today.
