Need to write an essay, only 750 words but you will be required to read a minimum of  three short stories prior to writing this essay (3 to 5 depending on the topic questions). Chose any one of the given topic questions and answer them in an essay format. Also include some quotations and write the authors last name (King) and page number in brackets after the quote.

The topic questions are as follows:

1) How important is landscaping to Thomas Kings Stories? For this question you will want to have a good understanding and ability to explain what you think Thomas king is arguing in a story and how the landscape helps present that to his audience.

2) The ability to speak or to be heard is important in terms of the way that Thomas King represents Indigenous people in his stories. Using at least 3 of his stories, discuss how and why he chose to silence or amplify indigenous voices.

3) How important is Thomas king’s understanding of stereotypes in terms of what he is trying to accomplish? you will want to refer to the “Joe the Painter” story as well as others, in your answer.

4) What are some of the common images that Thomas king’s stories use? Is his use of imagery meant to convey an argument in his stories, or is it incidental? This question is best answered by reference to the “Coyote” Stories as well as “Corporal Colin Sterling”.

5) How does Thomas king use Indigenous elders in his stories? Pick at least 3 stories and trace both the way that he portrays Indigenous elders and why choose to represent them in that fashion.

6) Misunderstandings are a common feature in Thomas King’s stories. Using at least 3 stories, trace his use of misunderstandings and explain what he hopes to accomplish by undermining communication between different groups of people
