Social Change Paper

Many scholar practitioners not only think about social change, but strive to effect social change in some way. This involves having ideas about how to bring about change and the motivation to put those ideas into action. In practice, this means you must identify not only the social issue, but the stakeholders, rationale, and a detailed plan for change. For this paper, you take a preliminary step toward effecting social change by outlining how you might initiate the change process for the social issue you identified in previous weeks.

Using your definition of social change and the issue you selected, you now complete and submit your Social Change Paper.

The Assignment ( 8–10 pages, not including reference page )

• Describe the social issue and motivational-change need related to educational psychology you identified.
• Describe which motivation theory(ies) could be applied to effecting this change and why they are the most appropriate. Also describe the limitations of your selected theory(ies).
• Explain how you would initiate this change process for the issue, based on the theory(ies) you identified.
• Remember, you must submit a reference page in addition to the 8–10 pages of the paper.
